The brief

Overview

We had already made work for Service and Creative Skills Australia (SaCSA) that landed well with their stakeholders, so when they partnered with Creative Australia on a national scoping study, they came back to us for the launch.

The challenge was two things at once. The report was substantial, and the launch date was fixed. The video had to do justice to the findings and hit a hard deadline, with animation carrying most of the weight. There was no room to run late.

The approach

Our approach

Two organisations were behind this report, and the fastest way to sink a joint launch is to make one partner look like the junior. So the first job was balance. We built a suite of animated branding elements that ran through the whole piece and gave both organisations equal weight, then wove in text, live-action footage and the report itself so the story held together rather than reading like a slideshow.

With the concept locked and the style frames signed off, we moved straight into animation, sourcing supporting footage and a music track that matched the tone of the work.

The result

The outcome

A late change of direction landed mid-project, and the plan was built to absorb it. The video was delivered on the day it was due and rolled straight out across SaCSA's channels.

No public view count is attached to this one. It was a launch asset for a report, and the result is that it went out on time, cleared both organisations, and did the report justice under real deadline pressure.
